Dalian Hi-Tech Industrial Zone

Dalian Hi-Tech Industrial Zone is one of the first state-level hi-tech zones approved by the state council in March 1991 and is a pioneering area opening to the outside world. It covers an area of 24.6 square kilometers, comprising of Qixianlin Industrial Base, No.5 Highway Industrial Area, Youjiacun Industrial Base, Huanghelu Science plaza, and some policy-covering sections.

During its development,the Zone has always focused on the goal of Developing and industrializing high technologies*,and go on opening wider to the outside world. The Zone has established close relations with more than 20 countries and regions in world. There are about 1,700 enterprises, 380 of which involving foreign elements,and 360 are recognized as hi-tech inside the Zone.

No.5 Highway Industrial Area is situated on the 'economic artery' in the northeastern part of Dalian -the meeting point of Huanghai Road and No.5 Highway,covering an area of 9 square kilometers. Leaning against the hills and facing the sea,this flat area enjoys convenient transportation. It is 5 km to Dayaowan Container Port, 28 Km to Dalian International Airport, 22 km to Shenda Highway, 8 km to Jinqiao Railway Station, and 28 km to the downtown center. A light tram has been planned to run between the downtown center and No.5 Highway Industrial Area. This Area adjacent to the Economic Zone, the Bonded Trade Zone, and the Golden Pebble Tourist & Resort Zone , form a supplementary opening group of Dalian with their advantages and functions.

According to Dalian Municipal Overall Planning, No.5 Highway industrial Area will be built into the most unique and attractive "Double D Science Bay" in China. Surrounding digital and life(DNA) sciences, we will develop the high-industries in the relevant fields. The planning and design of this Area have been done through international biding. It is composed of the Industrial Section, the Commercial Section, and the Residential Section.

Located by South Lushun Road in the southwestern part of Dalian, Qixianling Industrial Base is a key area for the development of hi-tech industries. Composed of the Industrial Section,the Incubator section, the Tourist & Convalescent Section,and the Residential Section,this Base covers an area of 5.68Km2, 2.78Km2 of which have been developed. The Industrial Section is composed of the electronic information section, the bio-medical section, the bio-medical Section, bthe novel material section and the energy saving & environmental protection section. Nearly one hundred hi-tech enterprises, such as China Hualu Electronic Information Group, Luming Technology Group,Kyoritsu Sieki(Dalian). etc., have already settled in the industrial Section.

Located in Qixianling Industrial Base of Dalian Hi-Tech Industrial Zone, Dalian Overseas Students Park is an ideal Park for the overseas students to set up hi-tech enterprises by themselves or with others. At present there are already 22 enterprises set up by Chinese overseas doctors and masters from USA, UK, Japan,Germany,Canada etc.

As an administrative organization,the state-level Dalian Incubator Service Center can provide its hi-tech enterprises with the satisfactory services. With a facilities and plant area of 30,000m2, Dalian Incubator Service Center has already incubated 120 enterprises, of which 18 are hi-tech enterprises. A good number of medium-and small sized successful hi-tech enterprises such as Yinglian Technology Co.,Ltd.,Yongxing Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd., Bolong Dynamite Co.,Ltd.,O.K. Optics Co.,Ltd. and so on have developed a very good market prospects.

"China Torch Plan Software Industrial Base"-Dalian Software Park is located in Youjiachun Industrial Base of Dalian Hi-Tech Industrial Zone With an area of 3km2. Dalian Software Park is striving to build a high standard base for software research,development, manufacture and export in China. At present, dozens of software companies such as Neu-alpien and over thousand software engineers have already started their businesses in Dalian Software Park.
